Crafting for Easter was never in my repertoire, until I started blogging.
Oh sure, I colored eggs, however, when it came to Easter projects, in our house, it was all about the kids. And their crafts.

It never dawned on me to decorate the house with anything other than a few vinyl clings.
Or cotton ball bunnies.
Then I fell into the world of blogging and my love of all things Easter was born.
Over the past decade, I've made so many darling Easter decor crafts, that I never thought I'd be able to pick a favorite.
Until now.
You may remember that last week I made a banner with some Easter transfers.

I was so smitten with those bunnies, butterflies and chicks, and they were so easy to work with, I just couldn't stop at one craft.
Plus, I knew they'd work great on glass and I had the perfect dish to transform.
I found it the thrift store a few weeks ago and while, as usual, I had no idea what I would use it for, I knew I had to have it.

There were actually two of them on the shelf and at $1.99, I should've grabbed them both.
Especially since I found on them online for a lot more.
Definitely one of those times when I'm kicking myself.
Ah well, it happens.
The glass plate was in great shape, but I still had to prep it properly for the transfer. I started by removing that sticky price tag.

Next, I wiped down the entire plate with vinegar and water.

Then I was ready for the fun part, choosing a transfer.
There were so many adorable patterns, it wasn't easy, but I settled on a sweet Easter bunny in a basket surrounded by eggs and flowers.

Now, keep in mind, these plates are solely for decoration.
If you want to make plates you can actually eat off of for Easter, you can peek at my decoupage bunny plates.
Adding Transfers To Glass
The process of using transfers on glass was just as easy as using them on fabric.
1. Cut the transfer out.

2. Peel the backing away from the design.

3. Place the transfer on the plate.
Stick it down and make sure it's secure.

4. Rub on top of the transfer until it releases.

No fancy tools are needed here. I used the handle of my scissors, but you could use any hard plastic piece, like a credit card.
5. Peel the top plastic away from the transfer once it has fully released.

If there are any parts of the design that are still stuck to the plastic, simply lay it down again and rub it a bit more.
That's it.
That's all I did...it took me less than 5 minutes to give that fabulous thrift find an Easter makeover.

And a beautiful, springtime one at that.
A vintage style Easter dish, created in minutes, and one that looks right at home in my 1920's cottage style kitchen.

Of course, two would be better.
So guess where I'm going today?
Oh well, I can think of worse ways to spend a Saturday.
😉
How about you?
Are you a big Easter crafter?
