Vintage Tartlet Tins Givewaway

Tomorrow is the first day of fall and while I am super sad to see summer go, I thought we should celebrate ~ it eases the pain a little ~ and what better way to do that, than with a giveaway!

Back in July, my husband and I were shopping at a church yard sale and I came upon a few really neat treasures. It was one of those great fairs where things were tossed in a box and labeled a dollar. I had to dig, but it was so worth it. It's where I found the Better Homes and Gardens book I gave away this summer and it's where I found the vintage tartlet tins I'm giving away today.

There are 36 of them in the set. When I investigated I see others that look identical listed for upwards of $30 and that they are from the 1950s, although I can't confirm that.

Mormatt Tartlet Tins

As you can imagine the box is a little stained and a little torn, but they have part of the original price tag on them, from Macy's and 24 of the tins are in fabulous condition.

The six round ones look as if they may have actually been used to make tartlets. However, I think a good cleaning would take care of that if you decided to bake with them.

Vintage Tartlet Trays

Of course, I figured that most of you crafty people would prefer to create with them.

Not sure what you could make? Check out this Vintage Tartlet Tin Crafts Pinterest board I made. I rounded up all sorts of cute ideas.

There are Christmas ornaments, pin cushions, candle holders, place cards, banners, magnets, jewelry, advent calendars and of course, tartlet recipes.

The possibilities for fun is endless.

So good luck!

And oh yeah, happy fall.

  24. Make something out of them? Kim! Make sweet things to eat with them!

Yes, please enter me and I'm a subscriber. And I live in the good ole USA.

But what I really hope is that someone with nimble fingers for using these darlings a whole lot to make dainty sweets and savories will win them, not me with my arthritic fingers.

  27. What a treasure! I see so many great ideas for using these on your Pinterest board. My friend made some Christmas ornaments using tartlet pans once, I'm going to share your board with her. We might have to do some Christmas crafting together this fall now that I see so many fun ideas.

  29. Hi Kim, what a great find. I don't know if you have many Norwegians in your neck of the woods but those tins are used for Sandbakelse (sandbakkels) a Norwegian sugar cookie. It appears that the recipe on the box is written in a foreign language, guessing Norwegian, as well as English. How fun. I will have to check out your pinterest board for fun ideas.

  35. I've been out of town & am catching up on all my favorite blogs. (My husband & I took a 3 week road trip to celebrate our 30th!).

I have a very similar set of tart pans. I have had them for years & just cannot part with them....I want to use them! With a diabetic husband though, I rarely make desserts. Still, I keep thinking I'll find time to to try something with them.

I'm on the lookout for an old breadboard to make a fall sign too.
