Make a super easy 4th of July wreath or Memorial Day wreath with red, white and blue ribbon. This patriotic wreath is a quick and inexpensive DIY.
Sometimes, a simple design makes the most dramatic statement...and you know me, when it comes to decorating, I am all about the drama!
Next to homemade banners, wreaths are my all time favorite way to decorate for a holiday. You can place them inside the house or out and make them from just about anything. If they're simple to construct and eye catching, even better!
Like this one for summer...a little bit of ribbon wrapped around a wreath frame, a very full bow and POW, fireworks on your own front door!
All you need is wreath frame, any kind will do, I had an old wire one hanging around so that's what I used. However, you can use a foam or straw form, or even an old pool noodle. I also used a glue gun and some thick red, white and blue ribbon.
I just wrapped white ribbon halfway around the frame and secured it on both ends with the hot glue, hiding the seams in the back.
I repeated the process with the red ribbon, overlapping the white just enough to hide the frame. Seriously, these two steps to me about 2 minutes to complete.
Lastly, I added a big, patriotic tricolored bow! That is gives this wreath its magnificent pop. It's simple to make, too. Just layer three bows on top of one another in graduated sizes. I started with very large white bow.
Then I made a medium sized blue one and topped it off with a a smaller red one. Now, I'm not great at making bows, so I used a Bowdabra Bow Maker to whip up mine. It took me no time and all, it's ridiculously easy to use and bows were all perfect.
Ta-da! Fabulous!
If you would like to whip up one of these colorful wreaths for the holiday, I say go for it. You still have time and it only takes a few minutes.

It's perfect for Memorial Day or Fourth of July.
Happy Holidays!
*I made my bow with a Bowdabra bow maker. I was a designer for them at the time of the post and it really did make bow making a breeze! It's listed in my Amazon Shop if you want to peek.
