Wag More Bark Less

Wag more, bark less. It's a philosophy for life.

From the dogs.

Found in the home decor aisle.

Fabulous.

Wag More Bark Less

I'm definitely obsessed with housewares and home décor items.

I simply cannot go into a store that sells them and ignore the pull.

It doesn't matter what kind of accessories we're talking about, I mean I don't even have a dog.

But that didn't stop me from entering the pet aisle the other day.

I was inexplicably picking up and admiring the large dog beds at Marshalls.

The patterns were just so pretty.

Of course, I wasn't crazy enough to buy one, although I did give some serious thought as to how I could possibly repurpose one.

Were any of the kids really small enough to use it as a seat?

I digress...but while I was poking around, I did find this sign, louding proclaiming that I wag more and bark less.

What an awesome sentiment.

So simple and yet so powerful.

I don't know why I have such an affinity for quotes and pithy sayings.

I think perhaps it has something to do with my love for words in general.

It could be that my mom used to walk around sharing sayings as she made her way through the day.

Or maybe it's just that the sayings are small enough for my aging brain to process and remember.

Either way, this one is a keeper.

It's a simple reminder, declaring in black and white, that how I react to things during my day is a choice.

I can get angry or I can choose to take a step back and breathe. I can look at my to do list as a problem or a challenge.

I can yell at my kids or I can speak to them.

The choice is really up to me.

Do I want to spend my days barking or wagging?

Of course, I want to wag.

Doesn't everyone?

Unfortunately, sometimes, the days get a little harried and I get a little flustered and I find myself interacting and reacting in ways that I'm not always so proud of or happy about.

Well, now I have a sign that will very eloquently remind me to smile more and gripe less.

To laugh more and grudge less.

To wag more and bark less.

Sage advice from the pups.

Just don't tell my cat I said that.

    1. I know, it can be very addictive! Things always look so pretty on display, but I don't really have a lot of room to store things, so I get it! Glad I could make you laugh!

  10. Love this, Kim, and yes, so true! I am finding that the older I get, I am doing more wagging and less barking, as the sound of the latter just seems to be a cacophony that is getting harder to quiet down, while wagging one's 'tail' is silently pleasing!
