Vintage Gardening Book Giveaway

Earlier this summer, my husband and I spent a lovely day in the sweetest harbor town just east of my own. We walked the docks, looked at boats, window shopped and stopped at a few yard sales and church fairs. At one of them, I spotted this very cool vintage book tossed in a box.

It's a 1954 edition of the Better Homes and Gardens Garden Book.

Isn't it pretty?

Now, I think I have made it abundantly clear over the years that I am not a gardener, but I am a huge fan of old books.

And it was two bucks. So I grabbed it.

All the way home, I leafed through it, looking at the beautiful pictures...

Vintage Gardening Book Tips

...the ever relevant tips.

And I thought to myself, this an excellent resource and it would probably be better appreciated by someone who actually gardens and loves vintage pieces.

Of course, my mind immediately went to you, my readers, so many of whom fit that exact description.

So since we've been discussing gardening lately and as a little thank you to those of you who have been such faithful readers over the years and a welcome to those of you who are new, I am giving it away.

Trust me, plants everywhere are much safer if the book is in your home, rather than mine. 😉

    This is a great giveaway. I get your emails but believe it or not I actually have this garden book. It was my grandma's and she gave it to me a few years back along with a vintage Better Homes and Garden Cook Book. I love them both. Good luck to all the others that want a chance at this book.     I love this giveaway! I have been expanding my gardening efforts for the last few years, next year I am hoping to put in a couple of raised beds for vegetables... flowers and hostas are beautiful, but I love summer squash and fresh tomatoes!

    Hi, Kim. I've been computer challenged of late (I'm OLD but not failing ... this old computer is) LOL. New one arriving soon :) I know this book well. It was one of the few books in our house, when I was preschool age, and my mom used it as a picture book for me. we'd cozy up in a big chair, as she paged through it. It was a big treat for BOTH of us! Always enjoy your posts.
