And The Award Goes To...

Last year, right about this time, I received a mysterious email. It was from a person I did not know, but the subject line was intriguing. It simply stated, You Have Been Nominated. Probably spam, I know, but I couldn't resist.

I clicked.

Turns out it was legit. The email was from, Amara, a retailer headquartered in the UK. They were hosting their second annual Interior Blog Awards and I had been nominated by a reader.

How exciting!

I made an announcement, but as a relatively new blogger, I never expected to win.

And I didn't.

I did however get voted into the Top 5 and was invited to London for an elegant cocktail ceremony where the winners would be announced.

I also made some great contacts and worked with a few companies, was offered a couple of writing gigs and was even featured in Amara's magazine, The Lux Pad. Overall, it was a great experience.

Well, imagine my complete and total surprise when a few days ago, I received the same.exact.email.

Apparently, I have been nominated again this year!

I am excited all over again and would like to thank my mystery nominator. Whoever you are.

I don't expect to win this year either, but it really, truly has been an honor to be nominated.

And a very nice surprise.

Now, if only one of those you have just won $42,000,000 from a foreign prince emails would be legit.

    I will go and vote too.
    Yesterday I was at the Royal BC Museum, and in one of the exhibits a young woman was playing a Player Piano. She explained to our grandsons what it was and how precious the rolls were. I thought of you and wondered if you had contacted any museums about your player rolls.

    It's a ducky thing, to be nominated 2 years in a row! Now, when you get the next email that says you're in the Top 5 - again! - pack up some of those player piano rolls to take with you, because it appears the Royal BC Museum might like them!
