The Perks Of Blogging

My first year of blogging, I had no idea what to expect.

What I learned is that it comes with a lot of perks, like having your work featured in major publications and by other bloggers, receiving awards and very best of all, making friends.


It's been a wonderful holiday season here at Exquisitely Unremarkable complete with merry wishes from blogging friends.

Plus a feature at Craft Gossip and not one, buttwopeer awards bestowed upon little old me!

Wow, talk about unexpected gifts.

I feel like I should be making a speech. I'd like to thank the academy...ok, ok, I'd actually like to thank my friends.


The lovely Scarlett over at Scarlett's Excellent Adventures has awarded me with a Liebster.

Scarlett blogs about food and since I'm not an accomplished chef (at all), so I love reading her blog to gain inspiration.

Then the very sweet Angi over at Can't Buy Me Lovehas awarded me with a Sunshine award. Angi is a twenty-something blogging about her life and adventures.

Ahh to be twenty again! 😉

It is always very exciting and truly humbling to be recognized for my work, so I'd like to thank them both very much for considering me.

I'm truly flattered.


Now, I've been nominated for a Liebster award before, so I know that I'm not playing according to the rules. However, I didn't want to repost the same list twice.

And while it's an extremely busy time of year, but I really didn't want to let too much time go by without taking the opportunity to give them a shout out and a proper thank you!

I also wanted to thank you all for a truly fabulous year of blogging.

I had no idea what I was doing or where this little internet spot of mine was going when I first hit publish back in March.

I didn't know what features were, that my DIYs would be shared in magazines or that recognition from other bloggers was a thing.

I certainly never imagined that I would have followers or best of all, make such good friends.

And of course, that's been the best reward of all.

So thank you for that dear readers.

It's been a ball and I can't wait to see that 2014 has in store for this little home of mine online.
