Believe it or not, I get some of the best advice in the housewares aisles of my favorite stores.

Marshalls, HomeGoods, Tuesday Morning. 

Seriously, better than the books on the self help shelves.

And much easier to read.

I don't go looking for this advice, trust me. Enlightenment is the last thing on my mind when I'm shopping for home decor. 

But it's everywhere. Seriously.

For example.

Looking for dishes to go in my glass front kitchen cabinets, I found a mug with a great quote on it. 

Live your life as an exclamation, not as an explanation...fabulous! Yes! I'm suddenly reminded to stop worrying about how others will judge my choices and enjoy the ride.

Or when I'm in the bedding aisle, I spy pillows embroidered with the word Dream. Again. Thank you.

Somewhere in between emptying the dishwasher and shopping for groceries, I should be making time to dream. Isn't that what life is all about?

The calendar and journal bins are the best though. They're a veritable stockpile with quotes urging me to make the most of what every day has to offer.

Today is another chance to get better.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

When you can't find the sunshine, be the sunshine.
